This Beachy-Clean Scent Combo Is My Summer Obsession

I have always loved the smell of classic sunscreen. This was way before the beauty industry took hold of the market. Sunscreens were thick, blinding white and took ages to actually absorb into the skin. But the smell was perfect. Tropical coconut mixed with saltwater (or chlorine for the pool days) and heat… pure magic.

Lucky for us, newer brands like Vacation are bringing back the retro vibes and nostalgic smell but in the forms of updated and improved formulas. So obsessed. I’ve tried quite a few products so stay tuned for an article all about what to buy and skip.

I’ve always been on the hunt for different products that channel this smell and more so, the feeling it evokes in me. Maison Margiela’s Beach Walk is it. Here’s the description for the fragrance on their site:

“It reminds you of the ocean breeze under the heat of the sun as your feet sink into the hot sand, with the taste of salt and the scent of sunscreen.”

Perfect, right? The scent balances the fresh notes from the salt and sweetness from the coconut beautifully. It’s made for summer.

But if you’ve read my other fragrance posts, you know that I am a gourmand girly to the core. Which is why I like to kick up the sweet factor by mixing it with Phlur’s Heavy Cream Body Spray. This scent lives up to the name and is a heavy dessert scent - even for a body spray. It’s whipped cream, marshmallow, coconut goodness. I find it a perfect add on to make any scent just a little sweeter. Heavy Cream mixed with the airy saltwater of Beach Club is heaven. Try it out and let me know what you think!
