Propaganda I am 100% Falling For

Hopping on the TikTok trend to tell you all about all the propaganda I’m currently falling for right now!

Korean Skincare

I genuinely have no idea what I was doing before Korean skincare and beauty. I was always hesitant to dive in to the full routine. It seemed overwhelming and high maintenance. Boy, was I wrong. Even if you’re not into an 11 step ritual, the basics are all you’ll need to become a convert .

My skin has never looked better and I’ve reassessed all the products I thought I loved. The price points are so reasonable and if you care about “clean” beauty — almost all these product scan green on Yuka.

The ethos of a lot Korean skincare is all about hydrating, soothing, calming and balancing the skin. I love that my face never stings or burns. It just feels good to use and I’m not sure I’ll ever go back to my old products.

Below are a list of some of my current faves:

  • Medicube Zero Pore Pad: An essential in my morning routine. Helps with removing dead skin cells and improves the texture on my nose and forehead.

  • Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Probiotics Essence: Incredibly hydrating! Makes my skin so plump and is a must in my routine.

  • Beauty by Joseon Mask Duo: Both of these have the immediate results. The glow is insane when I need a little pick me up. When my skin is feeling congested, the Red Bean mask is the perfect solution.

  • Ma:nyo Pure Cleansing Oil: Unscented and so gentle, this is the best first step for makeup removal. It also lasts forever.

Comfortable Footwear

Three years ago, I was unfortunately diagnosed with an ankle injury that changed my life. When I went to see my orthopedic surgeon, her first words were “you need to start wearing better shoes.” I showed up to that appointment in my (very cute) pink slip-on Vans — oops! She picked up the Vans and bent them in half and told me that if your shoe is this malleable, it isn’t offering your foot and ankle the support you need.

Lucky for me, the “dad shoe” trend was emerging and I was able to find so many great sneakers. I’m a city girl that walks all day long and once I experienced a proper sneaker, I was all in. My fave ever are the Asics Gel 1130. I’m on my 5th pair. They are super comfortable, supportive and affordable. I wear them with athleisure, jeans or even a casual dress. I also love my Hokas for a more sporty look. I still love a heel or fun sandal but for the most part - I prioritize comfort and save the long walks in Manolo’s to my queen Carrie Bradshaw.

Magnesium Supplements

Magnesium supplements have completely bettered my health. I take two different kinds every day and notice a huge difference when I skip them.

Magnesium Glycinate: I take this before bed to help me chill out. It helps regulate sleep, reduce anxiety, improve bone health and more. I take the pill form but there are so many amazing powders and drinks on the market to try.

Magnesium Citrate: Okay… I won’t dive too deep into why I take this but it helps with digestion and I’m not hyperbolic when I say this has been life-altering.

Oura Rings and Prioritizing Sleep

It’s been almost 8 month since I’ve had my Oura ring and it has been incredible for my health. I wear it religiously and have come to depend on it in my day to day life. I’ve begun to pay way more attention to my sleep and prioritize it in ways I didn’t before. When I get a 90+ sleep score, let me tell you, I am UNSTOPPABLE. For more tips on getting a better night’s sleep, check out my blog post here.

I also love the symptom radar feature. This incredible ring literally let’s me know when I’m about to get sick so I’m able to rest up as much as possible to try and avoid whatever is taking a toll on my body.

I’ve heard some complaints about the activity tracker and it’s true, I wouldn’t say that this ring is the right fit for someone who is really interested in tracking workout data. For myself, it does the trick. I’m mainly concerned about my sleep, stress and overall readiness score (a metric that tells you how ready you are to take on the day).

Herbal Tea

I love herbal tea throughout the day as a little reset. It’s not just about the taste — it’s the pause, ritual and benefits to my health. That ritual is especially important at night. Boiling water and picking out my tea signals to my mind and body that bedtime is approaching.

I love Spearmint and Raspberry Leaf for my PCOS symptoms and Peppermint is amazing for digestion. And as I’ve said before, Celestian Seasonings’ Sleepytime tea is truly a lifesaver.

I love that there are endless flavour combinations and brands to explore. I always make sure to go down the tea aisle of any grocery store just to see if there’s anything new that I haven’t tried.

What “propaganda” have you fallen for lately?
